Some of our facilities
A jet-stirred turbulence tank for generating turbulence with no mean flow.
An active grid for generating turbulence in a current.
One view of our new wind-wave tank.
Here is a video of observations of zooplankton (larval snails) "surfing" turbulence. In other words, we observe plankton tilting against turbulent eddies, rather than tilting with them, in order to ride the upward flow towards the surface.
A turbulent round jet as a canonical flow for testing new experimental methods that we develop.
